Rest In Peace Robert Culver 1938 - 2010

A very dear friend of mine passed away last night. For those of you who care this is my story of how hetouched my life. Bob, was my friend at the time Kyle's parents land lord, but he was always more than that, he was a friend of theirs, he was a friend of everybody, no one that ever met him didn't like him, he was the single most friendly guy of all time, the world would be better off if everyone just showed a fraction of courteousness that he showed. He saw me help stack wood for Kyle's parents and asked me to help stack his wood at his house and thats all it took. He'd bring in a trailer load of wood and I'd take a couple of hours to stack it for him and he'd pay me 40 bucks, then it grew to me mowing his lawn, then I'd go get the wood with him and this was the usual routine for spring/summer season, then when fall and winter would hit I'd bring the wood in and stack it by the wood burning stove. Twenty bucks a week and breakfast at rail city which eventually turned into Me and Melissa coming over and helping out and we'd go to breakfast at hometown cafe here in lemmon valley. But it was so much more than that, Melissa and I got a flat a long time ago and couldn't pay for it, Bob, payed for it and we'd start paying back, Melissa lost the car and he said no point in paying for a dead horse so I didn't have to finish paying him back, he'd take us out to Sizzler on Christmas Eve, we'd vacation in Santa Cruz with them for a week. We took them out to dinner with Melissa's mom the day after we got married. Them Being Bob and his wife Marge, they became real friends, helping them out wasn't about the money, but they wouldn't have had it any other way, they loved helping us out and we loved helping them out. Bob was a great friend and he's lived a full life, he knew so many people and made so many friendships. I wish I had more to say but its so hard to put forgotten memories to the page, thoughts will come to me about this or that and I'll smile and remember longingly, good times as they say. Good Bye.
